hatch pull down motor doesn't work

my problem is that my hatch pull down motor doesn't pull down the hatch when i shut it I never had a problem untill today. the hatch solenoid will pop the hatch. This is on a 86 iroc w/ power locks power windows power mirrors any help would be greatfully apreciated cause it's raining pretty hard and I need to get this hatch shut asap! Is there any way to over ride the hatch pull down and shut the hatch like on the older model maro's?

On your car there is a in-line fuse near the fuse panel that has a red/white wire for it. This fuse is for the hatch release/pull down assembly. It might be buried in a wire bundle but it is there. Several other board members have had this problem recently. Replace that fuse and you should be good to go.

If it's not the fuse it could be the reversing switch.
