Car: 1987 Iroc-z
Engine: 5.7L 350
Transmission: 700 r4
Fuel Pump Fuse KEEPS BLOWING?

the fuse in the pass fender that controls the fuel pump, outt no where just keeps blowing fuses, i cant turn the car over without the fuse blowing....?? i put 3 20's and 3 30's in it and just blows blows blows, the car is at my work now and im not sure what to check or even begin checking wires ne suggestions?

You have a short somewhere in the wiring . Michael Shaub who just had this same problem found several wires melted by his valve covers was causing his problem. Check the wiring at the fuel pump relay to see if there are any bare wires at it or any of the other relays there.

ill take a look and let you no, i went and put a new fuse in today, and it drove home like nothin had ever happened, so the problem is on and off...... could this be a mal functioning fuel pump or somthing?

More like an intermittent short.

I have the same exact problem as is stated here. It seems to happen more when the car is at operating temperature and, whether or not it's related, since the problem got really bad she doesn't idle anymore once at operating temperature either.

I replaced the fuel pump and its relay about a year ago (after the first time it blew). I can't find anything in the engine bay that seems exposed or incorrectly wired.

Other electrical issues, related or not, are that the windows don't always want to go up and the dash lights are completely out, except for the upshift indicator.
