Strangest fuse problem you ever heard of

Strangest fuse problem you ever heard of. I smelled hot electronics for some time. But one of my driving lights was burning out. Them sucker run so hot. I have had two sets melt them self inside. I have the fused right and everything is OK.

But anyways one of the light was going dim and figured I was smelling it. But in fact it was a fuse. It never dawned on me till I had no tail or dash lights.

This is what I assume. OK the system is some how a tad over specs on that fuse. But it was not over enough to blow the fuse. But hot enough to slowly melt all the plastic off the fuse.

At first I thought someone stuck a hunk of metal in my fuse block. Soon as I touch it, it sparked and my lights came on.

It still wasn't blown but not contacting well. Of course I had a new fuse handy and I have not smelled anymore hot parts. I have no idea how or why. I will keep an eye on things but it was fricking strange.

Fuse was fine but all the plastic melted away.

Haha, same thing happend to me.. Two fuses.. one was for the heater.. the other.. I don't know.

They were slimmer-plastic fuses... and they were just melted... still worked, though.. I assume they're just crappy, and that's why they melted.. I don't think they melted because of too much current.. just too much heat in general (from the heater, and what not)
