New steering colmun w\VATS
My car didn't have VATS. What do I need to make the VATS work? Do I need a new computer chip?
Can I still use the new colmun without hooking up the VATS? Or is it part of the ignition?
Thanks......

You can just use the steering column without the VATS. The ignition lock cylinder in it will work fine with your existing setup. If you are really interested in making VATS work. You will need a VATS control module, a starter enable relay, a properly coded key, a chip programed for VATS, the wiring for it, and the computer which would probably require more wiring. So just stick with the new steering column as is.

Thanks for the reply, Trickster.
That is exactly what I wanted to know. The colmun comes with the key.
Sounds like it would be easier to buy an aftermarket alarm.
A friend of my brother, has a 92' RS. Last week someone TRIED to steel his car. They cracked the steering colmun, but couldn't get it started, because of the VATS.
