Messed up ecm harness - need help.

I just made a huge mistake.

I had gone from tbi to carb and everything has been fine.

Today I was trying to get rid of the ecm wiring harness under the dash (Pass side) and the wires go through the pass side fender. There is a double connetcor that is partially wired into the ecm harness and I clipped the wires from one side . Now I think I severed the line to the electric fuel pump because the car cranks but wont fire. Also, My tach is pegged at all times. I think maybee I cut a ground to the tach.

It's possible I could re-attach the wires I cut but that would be a real pain and I would still have what's left of the ecm harness.

Of course a custom harness from Painless is an option but probably an expensive one.

I'd like to eliminate all electronic controls and get rid of the tangle of wiring.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Well, It's not as bad as I thought. The fuel pump wasn't working because I had removed the fuse in line from the battery to the ecm & fuel pump relay. I replaced the fuse and it runs fine.

The problem is that my tack is still pegged all the time. Would a severed ground cause this to happen?

Also, I still want to remove the ecm harness. If I unplug whats left of the ecm harness which runs up under the dash and to the ignition switch (I guess) when I turn the key absolutely nothing happens. I guess that has something to do with the VATS.

Does any one know what circuits I need to re-wire in order to unplug this last connection and remove the harness?

I have a haynes manual but it does not include a diagram for the tbi system.
