Need help with computer removal
I am taking the computer out of my car as I am replacing my lg4 with a 400 small block. I know that the computer controls the torque converter lockup, the q-jet carb, and the ignition timing. Is this it though? Also, can I just run a manual lockup switch to the torque converter without the computer. I'm a newbie at this, and this is my first engine swap so I would appreciate greatly any help.

That's about it. In 1985, it might also turn off the AC compressor clutch under WOT too. It definitely did that in 87. Your tach & gauges will be fine. The ECM harness on the Passenger side can be removed as a unit & the rest of the wiring is left intact.
Yes, manual, or a more "automatic" setup like an aftermarket lockup kit, or replicate an early 80's Canadian non ECM automatic car.
