Want to swap speedos/gauges.. questions

I have a US car and im in Canada.. I would like a KM/H Speedo.. Now I have found a gauge cluster with KM in excellent shape.. however the speedo reads up to 220KM or 140MPH .. My car read to 120MPH .. If possible.. i'd lke to just replace the face.. otherwise I'm into problems with the odometer.. Anyway.. If I had to, it would be no prob to just replace the entire cluster.. but wondering how the speedo is affected.. And can you swap odometers without screwing them..? or roll them back to where my original is? mine reads approx 92K Miles.. this one reads 179K KM which 92K Miles is 147K KM.. anyway.. any input is appreciated

Yes you can easily swap the odometers between the two.

will the odometer read in miles or km?
Or can I roll the 179K km odo back to read the 140K km where it should be?

That's a good question, I didn't think of that.

I got the odo to go backwards.. but I have to manually spin the gears.. ie I have to put 30K KM on my thumbs.. lol.. I can't get it disassembled past that..

I do have somewhere (not here with me, unfortunately) a pair of otherwise identical metric and non-metric odometers that I could compare.

i assume that either 1, the circuit board makes the motor spin slower/faster or the gear off the motor is bigger or smaller.. I go tit disassembled more.. now have it reading what I want it to read.. 149185.0km .. thats the metric of what i had.. I just have to get it back together and looking right.. not 1/4 rolled etc.. if i can't.. no big deal..
