new instrument lights

ok i'm trying to put in new instrument panel lights, which means i have to get behind the guage cluster, i have all the bezels out, but i can't get the last piece out because the speedometer is holding it in, all the other guages are out, and i definately need to get behind it, because some of the sockets fell through, i cannot figure out how to reach the cable for the speeometer behind the guage, wondering if there is an easier spot to disconnect it, or how to get at it, the dash pad and speaker are out too, any help would be great

Just pull the cluster out a little ways and come up from under the dash and push the little clip that holds the speedo cable in place, it will pop out. There is no need to remove the dash pad or speakers. BTW, being half contortionist is a must in this instance.
