brake lights connected with parking lights?
i have had a problem for a while now. my brake lights and parking lights are somehow being connected to each other. when i turn on the parking lights the lower tail/brakelights come on but the third does not. also if i put my foot on the brake the parking lights will come on dashlights ect. if tyhe car is off and i hit the brake the dash buzzer will come on to warn me of my light5s being on. i have checked the whole entire rear harness all the fuses bulbs are correct and i have checked almost all of the wiring from the parking light switch back to the passenger side marker. the only things i have not yet checked are my brake light switch and my rear light sockets. what else could be my problem i am stumped.also where is the ground for the brakelights parking lights? i have seen problems with bad grounds bleeding back through to other systems

Axle/Gears: ones that turn.
You have a shorted bulb in one of the rear brake/marker lights. It's feeding power back through both circuits.

That is another, although less likely, possibility.
You can check the sockets by removing the bulbs (just the ones for the brake lights) and pressing the brake pedal to see if the rest of the parking lights illuminate. If they do, That would point to a bad socket.
If they don't light up, put one bulb back in at a time, and check by pressing the pedal after each one. If the problem re-appears, you have found a bad bulb.
Also, double-check the bulbs to be sure they are the right ones. A 2056 bulb will cause this problem in a socket intended for a 2057.

Check for reliable grounds at EVERY rear lamp socket. It's likely that a marginal ground at the rear of the body is causing current to find a ground through the lamp filaments of other lighting in the same circuit.

I had this same problem last year. Turned out to be i had the wrong bulbs in two of the rear lamp sockets. I had a dual filiment bulb where a single filament bulb should have been. Switching them solved my problem.

ok i removed all the bulbs does it with all the bulbs removed. the only way i can get it to stop is when i un plug the little harness connector in the rear storage compartment. so that would indicate it has to be somewhere past the harness connector right?like a socket or a short in the wires somewhere so how would i check the sockets. and where is the ground for the rear bulbs i cant seem to find one
