ok im installing or trying to install a cd player in a 1970 cutlass and well its not excatly easy im trying to connect the harness to the old radio well i attached the ground postive and the other wire on the car there is a yellow which i think is hot black which is postive and blue which goes to the speakers well i connected the cd players red to yellow black to black and blue to blue and it still doesnt work the old radio turns on but plays no music and you can hear the speakers turn on so does anyone know how i can get my car to play music PLEASE HELP

 

umm isnt black always ground?

yellow on car should be from battery, and then match that to red on harness, and yellow on harness to red on car... if ya mix em up, the worst that should happen is the Deck wont remember presets

 

Id have to guess that red is the battery power and yellow the ignition power with black being the ground. Are you sure the radio works?

Either way it wouldnt be hard to figure out. One will have power all the time and one will only have power with ignition on.

 

Could you part with one....maybe two of those lovely ladies? I'll need them for um....indefinitely.
