Blown out Tail Lights, Parking Lights, and Console Lightin
I was installing a headunit into my G/F's 87 firebird tonight and in the process, the positive and ground wires touched together.
I realize I should have been more careful and not let them touch but they did so the mistake isn't an issue.
What is, is the problem that has occured. Her tail lights, parking lights, and her console backlighting is all out. However, the brake lights and turn signals and back up lights all work properly.
I checked the fuses and i had to replace the "tail" fuse. But it didn't fix the tail lights. I looked through all the fuses and the tail light was the only one burned out but i may have missed one since it was dark.
What are the chances that I have completely ruined her electrical system? I had assumed that fuses would blow before the electrical system fried itself but it seems this is not the case with her car.
Then her headlights failed to go down when she got home. Is there any possibility that the headlight dim wire could have grounded out and burnt up the motors?
I apologize for the horribly composed question above. I'm too tired to be thinking clearly.

Check the "INST-LP" fuse as well as the "TAIL"fuse. The radio has a gray wire going to the harness for the lighting that is on the "INST-LP" fuse circuit.
