Used guage cluster....

I'm looking to buy a guage cluster for my 92RS vert, 305TBI, auto trans, I have a chance to buy one locally but the seller doesn't know what engine the car had that he has the cluster from. The back of the cluster, printed curcuit board I assume is blue on the one for sale, my curcuit board is clear.
Does anyone know if there is a difference in the clusters from a 6cyl to an 8 cyl. No sense in wasting my money on something that might not work.
I love this site since finding it, thank you all for all the great advice I've been given every time I have asked anything.

In both clusters that i have worked with, if you take off the plastic cover, and then take out the Tach, there should be a little piece of paper floating around inside, that says wether it is a 6 cyl, or 8 cyl.
