speedo connect?
Okay, I have a 92 TBI camaro that i recently converted to TPI.....only prob is the wiring harness i used came from an auto and i have a manual. now there's a 3 wire connector for the tranny where i used to have only 2. i'm assuming its for the speedo (already hooked up the VSS and it works fine). been studying wire diagrams for weeks and still cant make sense of it. possibly have to re-wire it at the ecm?? hope someone can help...my brain's fried on this one. thanks

That three wire connector would be for the Torque Converter Clutch solenoid that is on Auto transmissions. The connector for it is located on the tranny case above the pan on the left side.

Okay,
Has your car ever been a automatic? Also the 305 TBI cars used a VSS buffer box for the automatics. The 305 & 350 TPI engines operated off the VSS on the transmission. Do you have something like a box under the dash next to the ECM with two connectors and seven wires total. That would be the VSS buffer box.

car started out as a 305 TBI with the 5 speed manual. now i'm running TPI with a stock harness from an auto trans am, and the 7730 ecm. all gauges and sensors work except for the speedo and related oddometer.
