I don't know How I ever Lived With out A Butane Soldering Iron, man It makes large automotive wires Easier and quicker to solder, espically being there is no Cord. !!!Butane!!! Man I love it.

How large is that? Do you have a cigarettebox or something to compare to? It uses gas cartridges, right? Or is it the one that uses a plain lighter in it?

I've always used an old soldering iron myself, but since i got it from my father some 20 years ago, maybe it's time for an upgrade ;-) .

There are several brands and models out on the market. Some of them use small disposable cartridges, but most of them use the butane gas (not lighter fluid) that you use in cigarette lighters. the one that I have has several attachments that allow heavy or precision soldering and also a tip for working with heat shrink tubing and splices. It also has a piezo- electric switch for quick starts without the use of matches.

Ok Here is a comparison With a Cig Pack.

It is refillable using Butane and has three Soldering Tips, a Tip For Hot Air Blowing, or leaver off all adapters and It is a mini Tourch.

Yes there are Small ones out there Like The Weller units that are Like a Slodering PEN (no downward handle) But for $25 From Wal-Mart it will work untill I have the Extra money to spend 85 on one of the weller units
