Time for new battery?

Well the other night I was driving my car then and I noticed my volt guage was almost to the top, around 16. I was at a stop and when I accelerated the alternator belt started to squeal. I took it home and it looks like somehow the battery water got out. The battery was making like a bubling sound too. I could see splashes on the inner fender and near the back of the battery. There was also a little bit built up on top where you put the plugs. Is it time for a new battery. I dont want to explode or anything

That and having the alternator checked if the voltage gage is going that high.

Hey Trickster I will get a new battery in the next couple of days then. It should probably be replaced anyway. Will a store like Kragens or Autozone check the alternator for free, or should I do it?

I'm not familiar with Kragens, but autozone and most other auto parts stores will test the alternator and battery for free if they are set up for it.

Its weird when it occurs. It is not constant. During the past few days it only happened once. And if I shut the car off and start it back up the charge will be around 13. I wonder if the problem could be related to when someone was trying to jump my car? My battery was drained since I left it on for 4 hours, so we jumped my car. During one jump the alternator was trying to operate, making clicking sounds. Once we got it jumped the belt was squealing whenever I would press the gas but it went away after like 5 min.

Yesterday my bro was getting some footage so I went wot. Sometimes when I get in the high rpm's one of my belts will squeal right when the tranny shifts. When I pulled in I noticed that my drivers side low beam light blew out. On the video before the belt squeaked both lights were working. Could that belt be the alternator and when it squeaked could it have put out too muchpower to blow the light? Any idea whats up?
