temperamental windows
My power windows have been acting up. They wont always work when I push the switches. A friend said that the brushes in the motors are going bad. He said that they should work when I open and slam the door but that's becoming less effective everytime. There's a spring-loaded mechanism in the doors so I'm hesitant to replace the motors. It's too much to buy new motors but used motors may have the same problem. Does anyone have any possible solutions? I'd appreciate the help.

if it is the motors going out, which you said slamming the doors would make them work again which does sound like a bad motor, get some that are rebuilt, they are alot cheaper than new & almost as good.

I never thought of a rebuilt motor, i thought since their pretty much welded together that they couldn't be rebuilt. I only have four real problems: windows, headlights, t tops, and emissions. Thanks for the advise.

most any parts house will have them. look for the best warranty if you intend to keep your car for a long time.
