Hatch LED bulb?

Just curious if anyone had a link to one. Would be nice to have one back there to match the rest of the car. I tried to solder my own but that didnt go well.

Solder + resistor + LEDs. It's pretty straightforward.

I don't have one of it outside of my car but it's REALLY straightforward. I just put LEDs on a PCB (6), inserted resistors where needed, the soldered it directly the the thing that holds the bulbs. I'm also installing a row in the plastic itself facing down so i really get some good lighting.

Well white LEDs are expensive and I used 12 per light so you had better get your wallet out. I really should take a picture of my interior at night without a flash, it lights up a gorgeous white rather than incandescent orange. Doesn't someone make these?

Nope, I cant find a distributor of the bulbs with the clips on the end.
Other festoon bulbs, no problem though.

Well since they never burn out I just solder everything directly on, so you'd have to pull the little bracket and clear lens out (held in with 4 pieces of bent metal).

If you could still get me a visual that would be awesome. I guess when I get some time I can try and copy what you did.

I also need to do it on my truck (pic attached, dome light area). Iv never taken that whole casing out. From the looks of it, it might be a little harder to solder a board into there than in the hatch light (Im talking about the map lights, not the center dome light - obviously thats a festoon similar to the ones in the dome camaro).

How bright is that bulb? I'm having a hard time believing its as bright as a normal bulb with only a few small LEDs. I'm getting omnidirectional LEDs so they put off light in all directions like a normal bulb does. Alot more expensive but for that bright white light, I think it's worth it. I'll post a picture of what I did but it isn't pretty, haha.

The map light is the factory style (obviosuly, and its brown and nasty). The center dome, though, is the wrong one - its supposed to be the 44mm one, not the 38mm like which I have pictured). I believe the 44mm is the one that goes in the camaro dome also.

But, the 38mm has like 6 LEDs, but the 44 has like 9. The 38mm is about 3/4 as bright as the factory. Once I order the correct 44mm ones, Im sure it will be as bright as it is supposed to be.

BTW I have all LEDs in my truck as well. Two 194 bulbs under the dash, one 194 in each door (2 door), and then that 38mm (44mm) festoon in the dome. Now I just need to make those two map lights (I also want to install a camaro rear view mirror like mine that has the two reading lights... wire it from the dome and then ill have even more lighting). My camaro's rearview already has led 194s in them. Not as bright as stock, but its a much better color.
*** I cant stand brown/yellow coloring/lighting.

Attached pics... My truck's cluster with colored blue 194 bulbs.

Cool. I always buy the ones with 4 LEDs on them. I could have gotten the 6 ones, but the base is a little thicket and I wasnt sure they would fit in between tight spaces (rearview mirror sockets, for example, which BARELY had enough room).
