I don't think anyone has figured it out, exactly. Every now and then someone will ask why our tach get so "off", and more members will just say that they have the same problem. I have heard that it's a capacitor on the back of the tach, but I have yet to see someone install a new capacitor and post if it worked or not. Maybe I should try it and see ? Mine's off as well.

do you guys know if we could put the old style gauge cluster from like an 89 camaro into ours so we could run aftermarket tachs but keep it in the factory spot? If that makes any sense.

or has anyone put an aftermarket tach in the car and done something different with there cluster so it doesnt look stupid haveing 2 tachs, one working and the other not. Any ideas would be great and pics would be greater. Thanks.

I know what you saying, but I don't think it will work. I'm not positive, but I'm pretty sure that the 89 and earlier gauges won't swap with 91-92 clusters, but I could be wrong.

Some people have just ditched the whole cluster and made their own custom gauge set-up, but it get's pretty expensive and takes some fab work. Two tachs don't look that bad

This is just my temporary solution to the tach problem (bad pic, I know).
