My car is an 88 and has the Systems check in the dash. Once in a while the "F lamp" will come on and if i push the fog light button on and then off it will turn off the "F lamp" message but then it will come back on later. The fog lights are no longer in the car. any idea on how to fix this minor problem?

 

remove bulb!!!

 

Or put a piece of black electrical tape over the offending light. Works with the check engine light too )

 

Mine was doing that for months before I got around to getting a new bulb, and it turned out to be the connector inside the holder was broken.
