What exactly does the comp have control of?
Im swapping my motor out in winter and i was wondering what will work and what wont if i just rip the whole computer system, cause its going to be a carb motor, or what can i plug back in to make it still work right? Thanks alot, much appreciated.

if your going carbed- you dont need any of it, strip it all out get an HEI system from the junkyard, im using a mechanical fuel pump- if your not worried about emissions ditch it all from the ECM to the O2 sensor. you will need to take out the VATS system too i beleive- i just ripped all the wireing out and made my own harness for only the stuff i need. if its an everyday driver i wouldnt do a carb though- its do the LT1 swap. Non computerized cars tend to be a lil touchy and ****. youll also need to work on the guages and what not- make a custom autometer pod like im doing it makes it all easy. if you have any questions just PM me ill be happy to help ya

The computer controls the ignition and transmission lock-up.
Without a working throttle position sensor (TPS), nothing will work. The ECM would be stuck in Limp Mode.
