Brake warning light (in dash) doesn't work?
The warning light in the dash cluster, lower right side.It comes on if the brakes fail, there is air in the system ,or the e-brake is on.Ever since I converted my '82 factory 4 wheel disk Z to 1LE brakes front and '89 and newer PBR's in the rear this light no longer works.I used the correct '89 Proportioning valve (the wire which is light brown or tan from the harness is plugged into it just like the original '82 prop valve)..master cylinder..etc,etc.I would really like to get this like working correctly again as it worked before I did the swap.Any ideas..please help!

take the tan wire thats on the valve, and touch it to a known good ground.
with the ignition on, the light should come on.
if it does come on, then the brake prop valve isnt grounded adaquately to set off the bulb, or the switch/sensor is broken.
if not, then you have a bulb/wiring problem.
obviously, check if the bulb comes on at startup. if it does, i would start by pulling the gauge cluster out and checking the traces on the back.
if they're fine, then i would stick a meter on the connector going to the gauges, and make sure theres continuity between the wire at the sensor, and "the back of the gauge cluster" connector.
