Where can I access a wire to power the parking lights from the inside?

I'm hooking up a keyless entry setup, and I want to hook up my parking lights for the car find function, but I don't know where to find the wire inside the car for them. I need the wire to send a 12v signal to, not the wire to ground. Thanks for any help.

it is a brown wire that goes into the dimmer/headlight switch.

Do you know where that wire comes out at under the dash? I tried to find the wires that came from the switch, but I couldn't find them.

Look for the brown wire that goes into pin "B1" of connector C100 on the driver side firewall under the dash. That is the wire that you want.

What is connector C100? Will I have to take the underside of the dash apart to get to it?

Sorry for all the dumb question, I don't know the numbers for any of these plugs.

Connector C100 is the bulkhead connector for the wires coming into the car from the engine bay. It is located on the firewall under the dash in front of the drivers left foot. You cant miss it because of the big wire bundle there going into it. No you don't have to take the whole underside of the dash apart to get to it. Just the knee bolster panel there if it is installed.

I took apart the underside of the dash this morning, and there are a bunch of brown wires under there and I don't know what goes to what.

you have a camaro 91 correct?

i have one too... heres how i would do it:

take off the knee bolster(large black pad under the gauges that leads to under the dash).. its held on by 3 or 4 large torx screws...
stick your head under the dash.
now take a flashlight and shine it up from under there so you're looking at the underside of the headlight switch.
you'll see a "button" with a spring under it.
pull the headlights on. push the "button" using a long tool.. i usually use a socket extention.
with the button pressed, you should be able to pull the headlight **** out of the dash.

now take the trim piece off of the gauges... it just pulls off and snaps on. take care to unhook the cig lighter wires.. you'll see what i mean.

now you can access the headlight switch and its wires easily.

to re install:

click the cig lighter wires back on.
snap the trim piece in place
push the headlight **** back on.. it'll click in place no prob.
put the panel back on with the screws.

thats it... in the amount of time it took me to type that, it would be all apart and you could be splicing wires.

I knew I should have just left that apart instead of putting it back together. I'll do that today or tomarrow and see if I can get this to work.

Well, it finally stopped raining! I got out there this morning and took the whole underside of the dash apart, moved the brain over to the driver's side (like I should have done in the first place), and hooked everything back up, including the parking lights. Thanks so much for the help, it looks like a professional job. When the doors are locked and unlocked and the find button is pressed, the parking lights, side lights, fog lights, and the tail lights flash, like all these new cars. The only thing I don't like is that the lights on alarm beeps when the lights flash, but oh well.

Thanks again for all the help, couldn't have done it without ya'll!

Get a volt meter and probe each wire. 0V with lights off, 12V with them on. Problem solved... .
