Trying to Run a fan Switch
What's up? I just bought a rocker switch for my electric fan, but I don't really know what I'm doing. The fan used to be running from the fuse box, until the wire got crappy and melted the fuse box. Any tips would be great. Thanks.

when i bought my car i found the a melted fan wire at the fuse box. the previous owner wired it to pull power straight from the fuse box. i bought a 30 amp relay and it solved the problem. 1 wire to ground. 1 to battery and 1 to keyed fuse. the relay draws straight from the battery.

i got my fan wired
first rule.... use a relay.
2nd rule..... use a fuse.
wire the switch to power, and ground, and the acc part of the switch goes to the relay.
then the relay gets power and ground, and teh switch, and tehn to the fan.
