headlights wont pop up in 89 bird
I have an 89 formula with 2 wire plug. I was not getting power to the headlight motors so i changed out the module now they go down ONLY if the plug going into the module is in the half way. the plug has power coming out of it. they still wont go up. Ive tried 7 modules from the junk yard and this is the first 1 that has worked somewhat. both of the motors are brand new. Could it be a loose connection in the plug going into the module. Ive been trying to figure this out for 4 months. thanx

This is the only thing I can think of to suggest:
TDS Headlight Actuator Repair Kit
Drop Lon (Lonsal) a PM and ask him for his diagnosis on this particular problem. If your motors are fried or this is some other kind of electrical problem (which it very well may be) the repair kit may not be the ticket.

Man i feel your pain, Ive have the same problem, except mine go up not down. After i bought a brand new relay for 172 that didnt work at all, i gave up for the time being.
The darn relay switches in the module are not moving back and forth..thats the problem, Someone on here described in a thread how to take the module apart and clean the switches, I havent had time to try it yet.
I want to just bypass the module and straight wire the darn things with a 3 way toggle switch, and do them individually so i can "wink" at babes on the street
it seems like an easy thing to do, I just need to figure out what guage wire and inline fuse amp rating to use.
