electrical for temp gauge??

Engine: Turbo V6
Transmission: 200r4
electrical for temp gauge??
anyone know how to get the temp gauge to work when ecm is taken out of car?? And what color is the temp. sensor wire going into cylinder head?? Its an 1984 z28 THanxs for the help

Axle/Gears: ones that turn.
It's a green wire, and the ECM has nothing to do with it.
