altenator wires?

altenator wires?

anyone know where the 2 small wires that plug into the altenator go i disconnected my ecm is this going to affect it?

No it won't matter if the ECM is out. The 2 wires are hot 12 for the field of the gen and the other is the sense or turn on wire. It is normally key controlled.

okay so...

okay so one wire it's key on 12 volt and what the other wire.... the person who i bought it from had a jumper instead of having the two wires hooked up to it and i want to wire it correctly. thanls for the help!

The plug should have a red and a tan or white wire. The red is usually heavier guage that can go directly to 12 volts with the key off, the other lighter guage wire goes to a key controlled 12 volts to turn the gen on and off.
