WTF Guages running backwards??
ok, I've got some problems. I'm working on my battery relocation and installing some guages. This is on a car that is track only, so pretty much all the stock harness is gone, except for the head/tail lights.
I've ran my 2/0 cable from the battery to the starter, then off the starter post I've got 6 guage running up to a terminal on the fire wall. From this terminal I've got 4 wires to my switch panel (1 for ignition and guage power, 1 for fan, 1 for water pump, and 1 for guage lights) The ignition and guage lights each have a circut breaker between the switch and the lights and or guages.
Everything worked fine when I first wired it up. I went to hook up the wire to the sender for the trans temp guage and something got screwed up. When I went to try it again the volt guage worked BACKWARDS, the fuel guage didn't work at all, and the trans guage also appeared to work backwards (it went down instead up hopping up a little bit to 100*) The water and Oil guages are mechanical so nothing goin there.
I disconnected the trans temp sender wire, still the same effect.
I switched the wires on the volt guage, and it worked properly, but the wires aren't on the right posts. Seems to be some type of back-feed????
I've tried going around the circut breaker, but to no avail. Help me!
