Wires and Plugs.. Recommendations?

I've got a high milage L03, bone stock with an Edelbrock open element. Looking to do a tuneup today, inclduing timing, plug wires, cap, rotor and maybe some plugs if I can afford it. Otherwsie I'll clean em off nad see what kind of shape they're in.

Any advice on this stuff? I think i'll just get a custom fit set of MSD Blues wires, and any cheap MSD cap/rotor if I can. Saving money is somewhat valuable to me, so if you think buying the MSD stuff is a lost cause, I'll go for generic. As for plugs I have not a clue where to begin. I've always used common NGK in my Datsun/VWs...

Taylor makes good wires and I like Delco Rapidfire sparkplugs.

Ordered the MSD blue wires and cap/rotor, they'll be here tomorrow. Still not much for thought on spark plugs eh? I'll just head into Canadian Tire later on, look up the plug code and see whats on sale I guess... I've heard that the NGK V-Power plugs are pretty decent for the price. Now's your chance to stop me if I'm making a mistake

If anyone has a little more info to add about sparkplugs... The MSD wires they sent me are for another vehicle I think. They'd work, but are a little off on cable lengths... I havn't yet picked up any plugs, so I'm open to suggestion. A buddy of mine who races his 3rd gen swaers by the AC delco plugs, but also says the NGK plugs are good. I suppose it really doesn't matter as long as I stay away from Bosch and get the right gap/heat rated plugs..

By NGK-Vtip, do you mean NGK V-Power? Or is there another NGK "V" type plug?

Ended up grabbing some Autolite Platinums that were on sale. That AIR/EGR system makes his a bigger job than it needs to be. Still havn't got the correct set of plug wires... The guys behind the counter ordered the wrong sets twice. Anyhow, I believe the correct MSD wire set for a 91 Firebird is 3183 or 31839. I'll guess I'll find out in the morning when they get here.
