Third Brake Light out new bulbs still dont work !
Thought this would be an easy bulb change. Either the bulb mounting fixture is bad or wiring to the fixture. I cant figure out where the wiring connection is made through the spoiler to the brake pedal.
Does anyone know? Chiltons manual shows nothing on it.
wheres the connection made?

Are you testing it with the hatch open?? It needs to be closed in order for the third brake light to operate. Also there should be a pad next to the hatch locking mechinism that has 4 squares to it, make sure that they are clean, that to can prevent the light from working.

Thanks, Yeah I wasnt sure if that 4 square connection thing was for the light or for the hatch pull down mechanism.
Anyway the Hatch pull down doesnt work. I need a new latch assembly. Would that prevent the brake light from working.
Are they tied together somehow?
It does need cleaning and i scraped it some I thought there was enough bare metal so if that was the problem it would work. I'm gonna go sand it all down clean.
I'm thinking it wont work until I get a new hatch installed ?

GOT IT ! THe 4 square connection wasnt even plugged in inside the plastic panel. Sanded it all clean hooked it up and it works now.
Thanks. lol had a hell of a time trying to check brake lights alone. Got me a long stick and pushed the pedal and watched from the back.
Now I noticed a new problem. When you let off the pedal the brakes stay on...jiggle the pedal and they turn off. THe switch must be sticking at the pedal. Hate to think Ive been driving around with my brakes lights on all the time...lol.. Maybe spraying it with some wd40? But I cant see the switch in there . Time to remove panels i guess.
PReeeeciate the help !
