Power windows on an 83

Hey guys, hopefully someone here can help me out-

I have a 1983 Pontiac Trans Am with some mods done to it (327, headers, etc.). Just yesterday, I had my passenger side window rolled down in the afternoon... only it wouldn't go back up! I checked the center console, and the wires are still attatched snug to the power window button. Also, there is still power running through the system as my neighbour tested it. So I've basically come to the conclusion I need a new motor (perfect, just as I put it up for sale! Makes you wonder...) Anyways, has anyone hear had to replace power window motors on a 1983 F-body? Is it difficult... how much do new ones typcailly run for, or rebuilt ones... and how's the install?

Thanks alot guys... my car's sitting outside under a car cover with wide open window all night!

A brand new motor is about $50. The work isn't difficult, but is time consuming to do correctly. Plan on about four hours by the time you get all the guides cleaned and relubed, and motor and door trim replaced. If you don;t have a large (¼") pop riveter, plan on using ¼-28 (fine thread) button head cap screws, nuts, shakeproof washers, and LocTite 242 to prevent the motor from working loose and rattling in the door.
