Front Defost switch

I want to take out my air conditioner controls. I then want to install rocker switches to turn on the defrost and heater. How would I wire this? Has anybody else ever done it?

Very difficult since the defrost/heater selector switch runs off of vacuum, not electricity.

You could use a spare EGR or EVAP vacuum solenoid valve controlled by a rocker switch. With the solenoidf on, it could switch vacuum to the HEAT door actuator, and with it off, it would dump the vacuum so that the dampers would divert to DEFROST. You would need a multi-position switch to control the blower, however. If you only want to switch the air outlet positions, one switch will do it.
