Charging system

I need help with the Charging system in my 1991 RS Camaro W/ 3.1L V6. My battery went dead and I got a jump and carried my car to Advance Auto (I know I know, big mistake should have went to the zone in the first place.) They tested my Battery, starter, and my alternator and told me the alt. was shot and to replace it. I did and it wouldn't charge at all. I carried to a shop and was told the new alt. was bad also. I took it to Advance and they gave me another Alt. It tested good but my car STILL isn't charging. Neither advance nor the shop have ANY clue what is going on. The Alt. Relay is built into the Alt. so it isn't that either. I'm very confused on this one. Please help.

there is a fuse in the pannel that could be a place to look. In the 88 the alt is linked through the fuel or the fan fuse in the pannel.

The fuse that KptKid is referring to is the "FAN" fuse in the fuse block. Another thing that you might want to look at is the wires in the alternator connector and the tension on the fan belt. If you have more than 1/2" deflection on the fan belt that would be part of your problem. There should be a hot wire going from the back of the alternator to the positive post on the battery. The red wire in the alternator pigtail is a fusible link that runs down to the starter solenoid, the brown (tan) wire goes to the "FAN" fuse and to the coolant fan relay.
