can i get a headlight diagram please?

ever since i did my h4 conversion with the relays and all, with just my lowbeams on, my high beam indicator is on, but when i turn on my highbeams, the indicator gets real dim, but still on.

i need to figure out where i went wrong, maybe when i cut back some wires to clean up the mess, two are touching together?

thanks for the pdf, now from looking at it, im more confused then ever, i guess the current from the lowbeams is somehow kicking on the high beam indictar. (crossed wires somewhere?) maybe the two wires that go into my relay need to be swapped around?

help!!

There are three major things that can cause that:

1. Grounds;

2. Bad grounds;

3. Failed grounds.

Do you have fog lights?

How did you do the wiring? Did you buy an off the shelf solution or did you make it yourself?

i bought a universal 4 headlight style h4 upgrade harness, i remmeber having to switch to of the wires around to make it work (otherwise highs were coming on with lows, it was a mess!)

i HAD foglights, but theyve been removed and the wiring has been used to give power to my nitrous management box, so i can use the fog light switch as my arming switch.

Hmm, well, dunno how your wiring is, but on a Z with fog lights highs are grounded through the fog light assembly.

On my car, with a relay harness, I had to stick a power resistor (high current) between the high beam and ground to get the high beam indicator to turn off. Eventually I will add another relay and see if that works...that is 3 relays instead of 2. 2 used for the high beams and 1 for the low. The resistance of the relay may be enough to not need the power resistor.

If you disconnect the harness from going to the high beams and use your factory harness, does everything work properly?

im not positve on this, i will go check and get back to you. havnt tried the stock wiring ever since i put in the harness. my problem i think may have been, with the 3 now unused connectors from the stock harness, i cut them back. i did wrap them in electric tape, perhaps some ended up touching still.. but like i said, let me see if my stock wiring harness plug makes it work fine.
