85-up style gauge upgrade

Engine: LB9
Transmission: 700R4
85-up style gauge upgrade
Can the 85-90 style cluster be replaced with the 91-92 style by just dropping it in? All I care about is whether all of the gauges will work properly, if it doesn't fit into the dash correctly, that's ok.
