What wires can i get rid of?

Well, the car (89 bird, previously TBI) had a carb'd engine when i bought it, and i've got a new engine (staying carb) waiting to go in.....now that the old engine is out of the car, i'm anxious to get rid of anything under the hood that i dont NEED. I know the computer crap can go, as i drove around with the old engine for a week or so before it completly died with the computer itself sitting on the floor. My only concern about removing the computer harness (the harness on the pass. side) is that there are other wires that go into the same loom, and i dont know where they go and stuff.....
Also, i'm not gonna use the A/C (wasnt hooked up, so i just wanna get rid of the wires too) or the stock gauges (going autometer), where are those wires and what can i get rid of?
I just want to have as few wires as possible, but i'm nervious about clipping wires that i'm not sure what theyre for....
I'm no good with electrical diagrams really, and the ones in the Chiltons manual or whatever it is i have arent that great to begin with i guess....
What can/cant I get rid of? Thanks,
-Chris

Without an ECM, how are you controlling the TCC on the transmission?
