high mount stop lamps

I have an 89 rs. The high mount stop lamp is on the rear spoiler, and has 5 bulbs in it. All but one of the bulbs is burned out. I've tried and tried to find replacements, but no one has them. I can't even find the bulb number-not even on the old bulbs. Does anyone out there know? Are they expensive?

thanx

The bulb no. is 891. They're expensive, relatively speaking.

About $8 each, IIRC.

There have been several posts on here about this topic. If you will do a search you will find them. There is a suitable replacement bulb available through Radio Shack that is much cheaper, I don't have the part number handy at the moment or I would post it.

I couldn't recall the RS part number either, but I did a search and found where I'd posted the info previously.

The bulb for the HMSL (aka third brake light) is Radio Shack Cat. No. 272-1177. Descr: Halogen Lamps 12-Volt, 20-Watt. G-4 base, rated 350 lumens. Average life: 2000 hours. Excellent for automotive application.
