Three Fuel Pump Wires, what are they?
There are 3 wires that go to the pump. Tan, red, and black.
Black = Ground?
Tan = 12 volts?
Red = 5.3 volts?
Is that the way it's supposed to be? I just bought a car and the fuel pump won't run. I think it's just the pump, but I wanted to double check the chassis wiring, the car has been sitting for 6 or 7 years.
Thanks,

Black = Ground - Yes
Tan = 12 volts - 12 Volt Fuel Pump Source
Red = 5.3 volts - Fuel Gauge Voltage will vary with level

Thanks! The red wire had me puzzled, I forgot about the fuel gauge.
Looks like I'll get to replace my first fuel pump now.
