Speed Control?

Yesterday i put my jet stage 1 chip and my 10 inch open element filter on and decided it was time to head on to the freeway to open her up, you know, just to see if i could notice the differnce in performance. Well i noticed a big dam differnce in performance but i also noticed something else. I got the car up to 110 and that was all she wrote. Wouldnt go any faster and i could "play" with 3rd and 4th gear with my right foot, didnt make a difference, just 110. So my question is this, Did some of our cars have speed control? and if so, WHY??!! I thought speed control was a mid 90's invention, and that it was something you could feel... Thanks your your input
Derek

No one else has noticed this on their cars, or is mine jus too weak to go past 110??? it was a weird feelin playin with 3rd n 4th... I just want to kno if it is speed control and if it is, how to get rid of it without affecting driveablity, ie torque converter lock up, speedometer...

There is no good reason for wanting to go that fast or faster on our public roads. It is just stupid. The fix is in the tech articles.

Not to get you mad or anything Derek The Great but you shouldnt go that fast ( ) You could disable that with programming your own chips. But yeah i have the same problem cant go faster than 115. its called VSS

I have an 89 Iroc with a 350 tpi engine. I can't get above 115. The tech article says the speed limiter is on 305 tbi cars. Does it work for the 350 tpi's as well?
