Alright fellas i need major help. My 89 tpi 350 trans has gone kaput! It seems to be a problem with the computer i think. There s no gas flow to the engine and the security light popped up. i changed the ecm and the prom but the wierd thing is when my friend put his 89 tbi v6 in it, it wanted to go. So help would be very appreciated.

 

That is because the 89 firebird V6 models didn't have the VATS system in them. Your problem is related to the VATS system and you probably have a worn key, worn contacts in the lock cylinder, or a bad wire in the steering column.
