what to wrap wire loom with.

I'm replacing all the wire looms on my headlight harness. I would like to just use plain black loom and then wrap it with tape. I was going to use 3m electrical tape but I was also looking at the dry vinal wrap that eastwood sells. It has no sticky and holds onto itself with friction. I want the look that my new accel dfi harness has. It's wrapped nice and you can see the ridges in the loom. What have people used adn what's your suggestions.

3M 33+ or 88 vinyl tape works great for me. Colors, too.

Heat shrink tubing might look good too.
