Altenator wiring help

As anyone ever had the wire from the altenator to the battery burn in two, i have many times. I thought a couple of years ago i had it fixed but it did it again today. Does anyone know what is causing this or how to fix it. Thanks for the help guys

While running or sitting? Sounds like a short somewhere (duh). That wire goes straight to the battery from alternator, so there isn't much i can be. Check to see if its shorting to the alternator casing.
