need help
i have a 84 trans am and my speedometer and my tach dont work, and i need help figuring out how i would fix this problem.would appreciate it if anyone could help

I think you've got two separate problems, man.
The tach should be running off of the big "tach" terminal on the top of your big distributor cap. You'll see the "tach" right next to the only other terminal sticking out of the end of the distributor cap. The tach wire should be brown (trying to remember) and the ignition wire to the coil should be a fat pink wire. In 84, isn't the speedo mechanically driven? The last 84 I had got sold before I ever had the dash apart. I think 85 and up are electric. If yours is electric, its time to dig out a wiring manual and start searching. Start at the fuse box first though.
