changed cluster now tach is wrong

Transmission: T5
Axle/Gears: 3:08
changed cluster now tach is wrong

my speedo burned out for some reason so i replaced the whole cluster from a 91rs...mines a 92 5-speed 305...the part# on both pieces were the same but my tach is way off...the shift light works right.all i know about the other car is it was an automatic car...what can i do to fix my tach problem....thanks for any and all help

If your tach is constantly off by the same amount (ex. it states 3k when it's 2k or 5k when it's 4k) than you just need to re-align your needle. To do this just pull the needle off (softly) and put it in the correct place. You can do this while it's off, but you may need to start the car and let it warm up. Then set it to the proper idle speed. Someone else could probably be more helpful with what your idle is for your car.

would it matter that my cluster now come from an automatic car...when my shift light comes on when im on it ,it working right(just before engine looses power) but the tach is like on 8k pegged out...
