Electric wiring doors mirror locks trunk
Electric wiring doors mirror locks trunk
Hi, I own a 1983 Trans Am Black Gold Edition 5.0L Cross-Fire Fuel Injected. I recently bought it few months ago. Looking for parts and bought a whole bunch on ebay. I only have Power Mirrors on the car which work perfect.
1. I bought a complete wiring harness for Power Windows, Power Locks, and Power Mirrors, complete with connectors still on and a small box. The guy had told me I had to connect it to my "accessory junction block" Is anyone familiar with this. How easy is this conversion, any ideas, tips??? Please email me back with any kind of info.
2. I also bought a complete trunk release, with the lock, motor actuator, relay, complete harness and connectors on, and switch. Anyone familiar with this. I know where some of the connectors go, but then there a few other connectors not sure where thay go. Need as much help as possible.
3. The guy who had my car previous had removed stuff then put them back, have no idea what he did, I had to fix correct alot of things. One thing I am having a problem with is the wipers. I opened the panel and the wiper lever wire is disconnected, just hanging there don't no where it goes at all. Checked all over, is a little hard to check cause it is under the dash, but still have no idea.
4 Last but not least, i bought the 87-92 headlight motors, along with the 87-92 headlight module. What do I have to remove exactly to replace with the 87-92 headlight module. Where is it located how do I get to it? Any ideas tips help??? Thnaks. I would really appreciate it if someone really helps me with this!!!

1. The accessory junction block is a power distribution panel above the left side kick panel in the driver's footwell. It should have a boatload of orange wires plugged onto it.
2. Any more specific questions? The hatch pull-down wiring may already be present at the rear body harness. You'll have to remove teh rear cargo well trim to see it.
3. Wiper lever? Are you asking about the crank arm on the wiper motor/transmission, or the wiper power switch on the column?
4. If your headlight motors are working, I'd keep them. It's easier to diagnose and service the older systems than the newer modular systems, in my opinion.

Thanks for the info really appreciate it. The turn signal lever has a wire connected to it, it has a long wire that goes through the steering column. The later 80's Trans Ams had a short one that connected right there once you connect the lever on. This one is from the early 80s, the connector on the end is orange with the metal pieces to connect it somewhere under the dash but don't know exactly where.

Batts where did you get the wiring at? I'd love to know. I already have the systems intalled but, im trying to replace the wiring, the wiring for the door locks on both doors is badly corroded and i havent been able to find connectors anywhere. Also im replacing my hatch pull down motor with a new one or remanufactured one mine is shot, and the previous owner did a number on the wiring to it.
