starting issues
Hello!
Im new to the board and this is my first post (yay!)
I own an 85 Z28 with my girlfriend and we have a starting issue.
our starter wont get enough power. we had some real crappy looking battery cables, so we replaced them, no beans though.
the alternator is good. the battery is good. the starter still works, but just doesnt get power.
im thinking i should buy a ford relay and set that up?
anyone else come across this problem?

Could be the starter itself, I had one that would run fine off the car, but under load condition it was very slow. Tried cleaning it but did not last. are the wires to the starter from the battery getting hot? this would indicate overloading.

i think this weekend im going to remove the starter and have NAPA take a look at it.
i think it has a heat soak problem.
the thing that really gets to me is that it starts fine when its cooled down
