Help!

Okay, now I'm . I just came back from a 40 mile trip to the insurance office and back. The highway speed is 65, and I was trying to maintain 70. However, at that speed, the torque convertor decided to be a PITA and unlock, making me run at 2800 RPM. I used about a quarter tank of gas to go that distance!

Can someone provide me with a diagnostic flow chart or something for the TCC? I'm now treating this not as an intermittant problem, but as a complete failure. I could also use a pinout of the ECM connectors so I can run resistance tests on the signal wires for the VSS, TCC, IAT, CTS, and MAF.

But of course I can Maverick, it won't be for the 3.1L that you swapped in there but it will be for the 87 firebird. I can have it for you tomorrow sometime.

I don't mean to sound impatient or anything, but can I get some of those diagrams? I'm about to wait a few more days and rip the **** right out of the car to stick in a T5. The only problem there is the fact that the damn convertor to flywheel bolts have had Loctite applied to them and I can't get the damn things out!

Yes you do, I had them ready the other day but since you had not responded back that you wanted what I had I held off on sending them. Check your e-mail.

Got the e-mail. Just thought I should mention that I'm not the only one on these computers and the other people that use them are both Internet addicts .

Would a high transmission oil level (not quite sure how to check this BTW) cause the TCC to act the way it does? I know now, that according to the charts, that the TCC is NOT supposed to lock in Third gear, but mine does. I don't get it...

:edit: Here's the problem with the trans fluid level. It's difficult to check because the ATF is not in a thick pool on the dipstick, like the engine oil becomes after a while. Instead, it is a big smear that runs from the bottom of the stick to the highest bend in the stick. Even if I wipe the stick and check the level again, the same happens. I don't get it... Even if I put the stick in the tube upside down (text facing the engine instead of the trans), the same happens.
