Alarm questions.

Currently, I have a Viper installed sometime in the very long distant past. It's only partially functioning, just the locks work. After peeking under the dash a few times for various reasons, I've come to the conclusion that the wires/box/etc were installed by an untrained drunk demented monkey. I routinely have to shove the entire lot back up a number of times before it'll stay. It looks like hell and I'm surprised it hasn't caused some horrible problems. I used to be able to get the alarm itself working by disconnecting the battery for a second, now... Eh...Anyway, I know alarms have come a long way and need a bit of help.

What I'm looking for is this... First, I want to get the old alarm removed and by removed, I mean GONE. All of it. Not ripped out, hidden, whatever. Professionally removed. Then I want a new alarm installed properly and if need be, the original wires that were spliced to be repaired properly, not with electrical tape, half assed connectors, etc.

What are my options? Does anyone have a good recommendation in the Fort Lauderdale-ish area? Should I stick with a Viper?

probably any best buy or store like that could do it. Shouldn't be too hard to remove the old alarm, just takes time. I'm no alarm expert yet though...
