when I am driving around, basically off idle the voltage is at 13.5. When I idle the voltage drops to 12.5, which i read from searches that is normal. The annoying problem is that at night when the voltage drops to 12.5 you can notice a slight dimming of the headlights and dash lights. Can this be corrected some how?

thanks, phil

I do not believe the voltage should be that low with the engine idling. Sounds like the source of the problem.

according to my searches here. It is normal to go to 12.5V at idle.

I see this every day on motors much newer than our cars, personally as long as they go to "normal" illumination as you rev up, i wouldnt worry.
