Anyone have a picture of a dizzy taken apart?
I'm hooking up all the wires on my new engine I swapped in, and the dizzy has a remote coil I believe. What does it look like, how does everything assemble together, etc. Thanks guys, this is the last thing I need to do to get my car running!

Here's some exploded pics & general info on the system for a 91 Camaro RS. I tried looking up the repair info for your car, but couldn't find it on the site. What car is the engine out of?

Wow thanks!
I'm putting an 87 350 in my 86. My 86 had the coil built into the cap, the 87 doesn't, and I basically don't know where the coil is on the new setup. It has an HSR and I seem to recall that I needed a remote coil, not sure though.
Are the two system's rotors interchangable? Same with the 86 wiring with 87+ dizzys?

Not certain on the rotor question, but probably yes. You can go to the Autozone site and select a vehicle and find the part numbers for the two engines. As for the need for a remotely mounted coil, it's as simple as: you need the coil, so if it's not in the cap, then you have an external unit. There may be fitment issues with the Stealth Ram and different typoes of distributors, so be sure to check it before you spend the money on new parts. I researched putting one of these on an engine and found this bit on info:
You'll need to have a 'small cap' distributor (85-86 has large cap). Don't know if it helps.

Perfect thanks! I have both so I'll size it up and see what works. I'd rather use the 86 setup since I know it works well and I don't know if I have the external coil floating around somewhere.
