Fuel pump, injectors, ect (electrical)
I have a 1988 Camaro 305 TBI. Supposally the car was hooked up to a battery charger and someone tried starting the car as it was charging. Inturn it fried the ECM to say the least. I replaced the ECM making sure the service numbers matched. However when i turn the key to on position, their is no power the fuel pump. Also no check engine light or anything like that comes on like i believe it should. The car will crank, but obvioulsy no fuel. I hotwired the pump to run, but still had no luck with the fuel coming out of the injectors. I checked the fuel pump relay, and the two fusible links near the battery but still had no luck. Also checked the fuses in the car. The car radio and headlights all work. I was wondering if anyone had any idea where the problem may lie?

Try replacing the 20 AMP in-line fuse located near the battery in the engine bay. That is what powers the fuel pump relay and the ECM. BTW, starting a car while the battery is charging will not normally fry the ECM. It is basically the same as jump starting the car.

I searched for the 20amp but didnt find one of the line. Can you be more specific where its located? All i see is the fusible links. Im not really sure what happened to the car. But when i opened the ECM, the board was all melted.

The picture that VADER has posted shows one of the locations of the fuse for camaros. Another location for it is behind the right headlight next to the right side of the radiator which is where it is located in my 89 IrocZ.

Thanks that did the trick. Now only one of the injectors is working. I was messing around and i believe the problem is just with the electric connector on top of the injector. I was wondering if you can get them at an aftermarket place or should go to the dealership or where?
